It's a fairly bad list.
1. 'Game, The' is straight up lol
2. No artist has two entries (one Kanye? One Jay Z? Come on)
3. It's a very 'rap' list though; these people are all like, "well MAYBE there were some songs made after 1997 but they weren't very good. And if they were good, it's because they sound like music made before 1997."
4. It's fairly boring. It looks like they tried to do 'most influential' then chickened out and did 'most fun' and fucked them both up.
5. 'Shimmy Ya' is ridiculously far back in the 50.
6. 'Get Low' by Lil John and his idiots? Top 100 of ALL TIME? Come on...
It's drivel.
13. Wu Tang 'C.R.E.A.M.'? Best Wu Tang track ever? And Ghostface's only appearance?
15. Eminem 'Stan' (like - yeah - but 15?)
27. Beastie Boys 'Hold It, Now Hit It'. Are you fucking kidding me? They get ONE entry and this is it? Come ON!
33. and 34. So 'The Crossroads' is better/more influential than 'Insane in the Brain'. God.
40. Run DMC, the only crew with two entries, get one for 'It's Like That'. When was this list made? Who works at VH1?
Et cetera...
It's drivel.
But at least B.O.B. is in there. And fairly early. God, it's brilliant.
Also: Lil' Wayne has heaps of cash
